Rainer Klawki is a medical and science journalist resident in Cologne.

He is a specialist in communications between science and physicians and played a major role in setting up the internet platform Medscape Deutschland. He worked for many years as editor-in-chief of Cardio News (published by Springer Medizin) and for almost 10 years as the daily newspaper editor of the Ärzte Zeitung (Physicians' Newspaper, published by Bertelsmann).

He is a skilled print journalist who is also able to ensure the cross-media dissemination of the respective topics. After studying biology and German studies in Cologne, Bonn and Aachen, he began his career as a journalist in the 1980s as a reporter for the daily newspaper Neue Ärztliche (Medical News, published by FAZ) in Frankfurt am Main.
